Question on cost of insulin - Part B Medicare vs Part D prescription drug costs

Hello to all,

I know many of you use Part B Medicare to cover the cost of insulin. 

I have tried to get my pharmacy to do this. They never remember to do it - and so my latest quote for a 3 -month supply is $576.

Then - it is like - oh- I can check Part B. Then, Part B Medicare denies it. Is it because of the Part D plan - which is WellCare/CVS? Why do they deny it if it is part of Medicare?

So - I just don't know how to get this done consistently and correctly.

Any tips you have would be appreciated.

I just want to let you know that I did get this to work with the pharmacist at Walgreen's in Des Plaines on River/Oakton. He has been helpful before and took the time- several days - to make phone calls and get the prescription through Part B Medicare.

I also have had my new Tandem pump for about a week now. What a great pump integrated with Dexcom CGM.

Thanks for all you emails, I just got my Tandem, had a partial training could not finish because I have to wait for a new Dexcom, it stop working, I think blood got into the unit, very strange. Has this happened to anyone else?
