I recently got advice to split my nightly dose of Levemir into two equal ones.  Has anyone else received similar advice from endos or others?

Hi Peter,
Yes, I'm now splitting my dose of Levemir.  When taking 1 evening dose my sugars were low for the majority of the day.  Now I take 1/2 at night and 1/2 in the morning.  Though I'm taking a bit more with 2 doses; my levels seem to be less varied.
Hope this answers the point of your question.

It does, thanks Dawn.

I think I've seen a reduction in effectiveness since splitting the dose though nighttime hypos less.

I suspect I'll have to play with total dose and distribution a bit though small moves are probably best.

Thanks again,
Peter
