>> More about the project by the filmmakers:
"The videos we will screen showcase the Oglala Lakota's Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, and the Mohawk's Akwesasne territory which straddles the borders of New York, Ontario, and Quebec. We met with members of the American Indian Movement, the Mohawk Warrior Society, and young warriors struggling to defend their territorial and cultural sovereignty.

The project looks at the lived experience of the reservation and refugee camp as exceptional spaces within the logic of the modern nation state. Within these locations, what are the contemporary struggles for autonomy?"

>> The fimmakers:
- Matt Peterson is a filmmaker, curator, and writer from New York. He produced a film on the Tunisian insurrection called Scenes from a Revolt Sustained, and is now working on a project about Istanbul and Kurdish autonomy. He was a member of Red Channels and the 16 Beaver Group, and is currently part of a commune in New York called Woodbine. https://mattpetersonnyc.wordpress.com/
