[NETM] OFFICER ELECTION - Welcome to NETM 351th meeting on Nov. 28, 2012

Dear Toastmasters and distinguished guests,

This Wednesday night will be an influential and memorable evening in NETM history.

We will have an Officer Election for the NETM New Term Officers. This is a crucial meeting for our club and all of us. The new team will determine the future of our club during Jan.1st - Jun.30th, 2013. Only you, our dear NETM members, have the right to vote for your heroes. Please come and join us to witness this turning point.

 

Election Procedure:

1. The chair announces the nomination committee's nomination for the position.

2. The chair asks for additional nominations, if yes, go to step 3.      

3. The chair asks the nominee if he/she will accept the position if elected, If accept, go to step 4      

4. The chair asks for seconding speech. Any member may stand and second the nomination and give a short speech (less than 2 minutes) on the qualifications of the nominee. [Repeats step 2, 3, 4 for all nominees from the floor]      

5. The chair closes the nomination of the position and writes the names of all nominees who agreed to accept the position on the blackboard.       

6. If there are more than 1 nominee who would like to accept the position, then the chair would ask each nominee to give a 2 minutes campaign speech, and ask members to vote for one of them. ☆If there is only one nominee for the position, then the Chair will announce the result directly.      

7. Members cast their ballots.      

8. SAA collect & tally the votes.      

9. The Chair announces the winner. If the vote is tied, the election is determined by a flip of a coin.       

10. Go through the same procedure for all other offices.
