怎样跳过grub选择界面启动ubuntu

大家好，我在一块5寸板上装了个ubuntu10.4，用在做自动控制设备上。

不过系统每次启动都跳出grub的界面，要等待几秒钟；

而且每次没有正常关机，下次启动都会卡在grub界面上，必须要按一下回车才能引导系统。

请问怎么设置grub，让它无论什么情况等候3秒就自动引导ubuntu？

因为使用时肯定会碰到突然断电的情况，不能卡在grub上跑不起来。

百度上面没有找到有用的方法，我想搞嵌入式的人肯定知道要怎么弄。

我记得grub2的话取消等待时间是
GRUB_TIMEOUT=-1

改/etc/default/grub
