Agreed. You should start a PayPal or something.
Syyncc is running in google appengine, and the number of users on it
at the moment is not huge, so it's well within free quotas. So I've
got no hosting fees at all at the moment.
That said, if it grows, it'll definitely begin to cost money.
What's really stifling it at the moment is the amount of time I can
dedicate to it. It's just me working on it at the moment, in my spare
time. I'd like to grow it, but I'm not sure how to do it; for
instance, the more platforms I support, the more maintenance I have
just to keep it running (because the programming interfaces change a
lot for online services; it's a dynamic environment).
I was toying with the idea of making major feature improvements into
Kickstarter projects. For example, stuff like supporting, say,
twitter, or making a rich web UI where you could see posts and do more
micromanagement of the syncing, or making a phone app again with some
micromanagement.
But, mostly I'm just not sure how to go forward. If anyone has ideas,
I'd love to hear them!
