SUMMER SCHOOL: THE LIMBIC STRUCTURES OF THE BRAIN: FROM BENCH TO BEDSIDE

The Physiology Laboratory of the Medical School at the University of Ioannina is pleased to announce the 2025 edition of the summer school titled “The Limbic Structures of the Brain: From Bench to Bedside”, scheduled for 23–27 September 2025 in Ioannina, Greece.

This intensive program is designed for students, early-career researchers, and clinicians with an interest in neuroscience, neurobiology, and translational medicine. It offers a unique opportunity to delve into the anatomy, function, computation and clinical relevance of the brain's limbic system.

Program Highlights:

  • Lectures by leading neuroscientists (memory mechanisms, neurobiology, emotional processing, diagnosis and treatment).
  • Hands-on laboratory sessions (in vivo animal models & in vitro techniques such as primary neuronal cultures).
  • Computational workshop (neuronal and circuit modeling).
  • Patient case presentations (neurodegenerative and mental disorders).

This summer school offers a unique opportunity to learn from experts, gain practical experience, and explore the latest advancements in neuroscience, emphasizing the translation of fundamental research into clinical applications. It also serves as a valuable networking platform for researchers, clinicians, and students.

Registration deadline: May 20, 2025
