Dear all,
We are looking for experienced PhD students and junior postdocs to join exciting projects at the intersection of sensory processing, neural circuit mechanisms of behavior, and molecular underpinnings of neurodevelopmental disorders.
These projects—funded by VIB, the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO), and the Simons Foundation—focus on distributed visual circuits and SYNGAP1 haploinsufficiency–related disorders. Research is conducted in the Bonin lab at Neuro-Electronics Research Flanders and VIB-KU Leuven Center for Brain and Disease Research (Leuven, Belgium) in collaboration with the labs of Karl Farrow and Pierre Vanderhaeghen.
Requirements:
Excellent academic track record
Background in systems neuroscience and neurophysiology
Experience with genetic circuit tracing and characterization, in vivo imaging or neuronal recordings, and neural/behavioral data analysis
Strong interest in neural circuit function and plasticity during behavior
We offer:
Full financial support for the duration of the project (4 years for PhD students, minimum 3 years for postdocs), evaluated yearly based on performance
An excellent research environment in a vibrant, international community at the heart of Europe
A supportive, collaborative, and inclusive atmosphere
Opportunities to learn and apply cutting-edge molecular, circuit, and behavioral approaches
How to apply:
Interested candidates should submit an application via the following link:

Applications will be fully considered for all open positions, regardless of which particular position you apply for (no need to enquire or apply twice).
International Master’s students with a strong research background are also encouraged to apply here:
