MSc Student Internship in Neuroscience Discovery (9 months)

We are looking for a student who will investigate the impact of brain circuit specific manipulations on fMRI readouts relevant psychiatric and neurodevelopmental diseases (NDD). The internship will support in vivo imaging activities such as BOLD fMRI, offering the successful candidate a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in cutting-edge optogenetic and biomarker technologies.
As the successful candidate, you will be part of the Discovery section of the Neuroscience department. During the internship you will:
! Master surgical skills allowing for the optogenetic manipulation of brain circuitry in rodent models
! Performing fMRI recordings in rodents.
! Conducting cognitive behavioral assessments, immunohistochemistry
! Analyzing data and present experimental findings at lab meetings
! Perform literature searches and conclude results in NDD research field

! Enrolled in a Master program at University
! Considerable practical research experience in in-vivo experiments and animal handling (FELASA B/LTK1 equivalent before the start of internship)
! Highly motivated to work in a multicultural team with a great interest in acquiring novel techniques and gaining scientific knowledge
! Fluent in English (writing and speaking)

Due to regulations, non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents.
