Interested in learning how sleep integrity is essential for normal cognition during ageing?

We have a 3.5-year fully funded PhD studentship (worldwide applications) that addresses this question in mice using a combination of photometry, calcium imaging, chemogenetics and behaviour. This project will be conducted under the supervision of Dr Julie Seibt and Prof Derk-Jan Dijk at the University of Surrey in Guildford UK (one hour train from London). The University of Surrey is at the forefront in Sleep and circadian research in both human and animal models.

We are looking for highly motivated students with some background in neuroscience or related fields, ideally a Master’s degree. Additional background in rodent behaviour or EEG/sleep physiology is an advantage.

For detailed information on the project and how to apply, follow this link

For any informal question, please email Julie Seibt: j.s...@surrey.ac.uk
