The Department of Physiology at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia is recruiting a new Professor and Head of Department. 

The Department has strengths in neuroscience, cardiovascular disease, pain, obesity and reproduction, with over 25 research groups and 100 research staff and students. Of particular relevance to this mailing list, it includes a vibrant community of over 10 research labs focused on cellular and systems level neuroscience, including rodent and non-human primate models. Many labs have close connections to industry and the extended Monash Health hospital network. Teaching responsibilities overseen by the department include a major in Physiology as part of the Bachelor of Science (>1000 second year students), substantial contributions to the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (>700 first year students), and teaching into the undergraduate and graduate Medical programs.
