Call for bringing young neuroscientists to FENS-ENCODS 2026 in Barcelona

Dear colleagues,

 

We are thrilled to share an event very close to our hearts — the European Neuroscience Conference by Doctoral Students (ENCODS) 2026 — a FENS satellite event created by PhD students, for PhD students. It is designed to inspire, connect, and uplift the next generation of neuroscientists.

 

Next year, ENCODS will take place in the vibrant city of Barcelona on 4–5 July 2026, under the theme “Brain in Context”, highlighting how interacting factors, from molecules to experience, shape brain development and function, uniting diverse fields to reveal the brain’s story in full context.

 

Our goal is simple:
✨ To bring young neuroscientists from various fields together,
💬 Spark meaningful scientific conversations,
🤝 Build connections that last beyond the conference, and
🌱 Create a space where everyone feels free, welcome, supported, and inspired.

 

Across the two interactive days, participants will experience a blend of talks, posters, hands-on workshops, mentoring, and fun social moments that make it easy to meet fellow scientists, share ideas, and grow both scientifically and personally.

 

We would truly appreciate your support in sharing this opportunity within your community — with PhD candidates, Master’s students considering a PhD, and early Postdocs who could benefit from a motivating and enriching experience.

Since we last reached out, the ENCODS 2026 team has been busy behind the scenes crafting an experience that’s about more than just data—it’s about the people behind the science. We are so excited to share our preliminary program (attached!) for our "Brain in Context" meeting on 4–5 July 2026.

 

From neuro sessions to evening socials overlooking the city, we’ve designed every moment to help young neuroscientists connect, grow, and feel at home in our community.
