Dear SysNeuro community,

We would like to draw your attention to an upcoming scientific satellite meeting organized by the BARCCSYN community:

 https://barccsyn.org/meetings/satellite

This event will take place as a satellite meeting of the FENS Forum 2026, which will be held in Barcelona from July 6–10. The satellite meeting is scheduled for July 5th, 2026, i.e. the day before the FENS Forum begins.

The meeting, entitled “From neural circuits to choices: multi-scale dynamics in decision making”, will focus on how decision-making emerges from neural processes operating across multiple temporal and spatial scales. It will bring together experimental and theoretical approaches to understand how neural population dynamics across cortical and subcortical circuits give rise to adaptive behavior during decision making.

Invited speakers:

  • Joao Barbosa (Neuromodulation Institute & NeuroSpin)
  • Fanny Cazettes (Institut de Neurosciences de la Timone – INT, Aix-Marseille Université,)
  • Ran Darshan (Tel Aviv University)
  • Tobias Donner (University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf)
  • Lorenzo Fontolan (INMED / Aix-Marseille Université, France; associated with CENTURI)
  • Tihana Jovanic (Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience (NeuroPSI))
  • Sukbin Lim (NYU Shanghai)
  • Torben Ott (Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience Berlin; Institute of Biology at the Humboldt University)
  • Lucas Pinto (Univ. Chicago)
  • Carles Sindreu (IDIBAPS/CIBERER)

Date & Venue:
July 5th, 2026
FRCB-IDIBAPS, Center Esther Koplowitz
C/Rosselló 149–153, Barcelona

This satellite meeting will provide an excellent opportunity for scientific exchange ahead of the main FENS Forum, in a focused and interactive setting. There will be the opportunity to present posters.

Please find full details (including program and registration information) at the link above. We can only host a limited number of attendees (around ~100) so don’t wait to book your seat and register soon.

Feel free to share this announcement with colleagues who might be interested.

Best regards,

Hernando M. Vergara,  Albert Compte and  Jaime de la Rocha [organizers of the satellite]
