Role : Oracle Retail Micros XStore POS Technical Consultant

Location : Charlotte, NC

Duration : 6 Months +





  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



*         Candidate has the capability of completing technical and
functional tasks (70% Technical - 30% Functional)

*         Understand business requirement. Understand capability of Oracle
Retail Xstore POS application and design and develop solutions

*         Develop programs using SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX Scripting, Pro*C, Oracle
Forms/Reports and/or Java

*         Design high performing technology solutions for an Oracle Retail
Xstore POS

*         Prepare and execute unit/system test scripts to verify business
logic of new or modified programs and mitigate post implementation failures

*         Candidate will be responsible for working on custom extensions
across Xstore

*         Designs new, and modifies existing, customizations, conversions,
and interfaces as necessary

*         Design, code, test, correct, and document complex programs and
scripts

*         Provides estimates for work effort required

*         Work collaboratively with IT and business team members to resolve
the production issues.

*         Troubleshoot production issues of different criticalities with
appropriate urgency and maintain the application uptime as per defined SLAs

*         Perform incident resolution against established SLAs and ensure
proper documentation (SOP) of the solution procedure

*         Proactively identify, diagnose, take corrective action and resolve
application system incidents and problems

*         Participate in planning sessions regarding application, hardware
and software changes.   Actively engaged in pre- and post- implementation
reviews.

*         Perform & oversee the troubleshooting, bug fixing, testing, and
production deployment activities

*         Prepare technical designs for modifications and integrations Java
J2EE applications and custom components of product implementations to
support business processes and requirements in Oracle Retail Xstore POS

*         Perform & oversee development and testing for major and minor
enhancements

*         Manage service request queue monitor and fulfill business and
product support requests

*         Prepare and execute unit/system test scripts to verify business
logic of new or modified programs

*         Manage technical handover of new applications/enhancements from
Project team to Production Support

*         Collaborate closely with IT teams and vendors to understand the
architecture and design and as warranted submit change requests for system
improvements

*         Document, communicate and escalate technical issues, manage to
resolution and articulate business impact

*         Comply with and help create/update policies and procedures,
including standard operating procedure (SOP).

*         Analyze and improve the performance of Java J2EE applications

*         Complies with and demonstrate a sound knowledge of the Systems
Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology for assigned projects and tasks

*         Maintains positive attitude and momentum in challenging situations

*         Communicates effectively with all partners

*         Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of
work

*         Resolution of issues reported in Production

*         Support deployment of solution in Production and support post go
live

*         Support rollout of Xstore to other locations





REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



*         Minimum 6+ years of experience in Stores System

*         Excellent development skills in automation script writing

*         Good analytical, problem solving, communication and
troubleshooting abilities

This project involves implementation of Oracle Retail Micros XStore POS
system with integration to other systems at client site.

Essential Skills

(including minimum years of experience required for each skill)

Desirable Skills


*         Must have 4+yrs of Micros-Retail X-Store point-of-sale
customization and/or support experience

*         8-10 years of hands-on experience with production support,
incident response, bug fixes major and minor enhancements

*         Expertise in developing & supporting Java J2EE applications using
JavaScript/Spring MVC/ JSP/Servlets/XML/SQL/ Oracle PL-SQL/JSON/SOAP/REST

*         Experience in Oracle Retail Xstore POS

*         Experience in Oracle Retail integration with other non-Oracle
applications

*         Must have architectured technical design in Xstore / Micros POS

*         Experience in Java including development in Java

*         Hands on coding in PL SQL, Proc C, Java, Shell scripts

*         Experience leading or supporting point-of-sale solutions in
multi-site organizations

*         A thorough understanding of Retail Domain with a leadership
attitude is required.

*         Experience with testing tools and testing methodology

*         Experienced in technical design of major and minor enhancements,
coding and testing the changes and deploying in production

*         Ability to learn new applications quickly, and support them in
production.

*         Ability to think on both broad and detailed levels

*         Excellent analytical abilities. Demonstrated problem solving
skills in complex system environment

*         High tolerance for ambiguity matched with desire to organize it

*         Strong verbal, written and communication and presentation skills

*         Should be a team player, with ability to work in a highly
collaborative environment

Minimum 6+ years experience on Stores System


LANGUAGE SKILLS

*         Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and
draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of
technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, with several
