Dear colleague,
At the core of SysMod governance assembles a body of six community-elected coordinators. The coordinators are in charge of organizing the annual SysMod gatherings and webinars, maintaining the community’s infrastructure, and writing publications about the latest trends and developments within the community. The coordinators serve terms of three years, but not consecutively.
Laurence Calzone, Andreas Dräger, and Anna Niarakis will step down this year. We need to elect three new coordinators for a three-year term. Please nominate potential candidates via this form: https://forms.gle/pAectBtR6ZudgSHX9. None of the leaving coordinators can be nominated at this time. Self-nominations are perfectly fine. You can suggest as many people as you wish (please use one form per person). The deadline for nominations is August 15, 2022. The current coordinators will then contact the nominees to determine which of them will run for the election.
Each subscriber of the community mailing list [sys...@googlegroups.com] is eligible to nominate candidates and will have as many votes as coordinators are to be elected, i.e., two for this election.
The new editors will take office from September 15, 2022, until September 14, 2025.
SysMod coordinators thrive to serve the community and reflect your wishes and needs. Thank you very much for your help in democratically governing the development of the SysMod community. For more details about the process, please see the document https://sysmod.info/governance/.
Your SysMod coordinators
Hi Andreas,
I was just going over this email. In the governance structure we say, "the number of board members should not exceed three to five advisors ". But currently our Scientific
Advisory Board is bigger than this number. Also, ideally, board member should be less than the coordinators.
Best,
Juilee
