We would like to invite you to the special Workshop ‘From GREEKC to Disease Maps’, a Zoom meeting on 24 June, 10:00 – 16:30.

The GREEKC COST Action has finished in March 2021 and some of the results will be presented as examples of what can be achieved through COST Action mechanisms.

The Disease Maps consortium (DM) is gearing up to submit a proposal for a COST Action with a deadline of 29 October 2021, and some of the work of GREEKC may continue under this new umbrella, in particular the work on curating and annotating molecular causal interaction statements that can be the input for computational model building. DM talks will focus on the aims of the map-building work, the experiences, bottlenecks and blue sky scenarios, and discussions will focus on ways to propose an Action with complementary and synergistic input from all.

A particular focus will be on the prediction, annotation and curation of transcription factor/target gene interactions, as a type of causal interaction that is fundamental to many computational approaches that strive to link phenotypes with genomic information. An overview of the field will be provided, with an emphasis on how an enhanced resource may steer specific computational use cases.
