Dear all,

This e-mail is forwarded to you from the executive office of ISCB.

– Andreas

Dear ISMBers,

We would like to invite you to take part in a hackathon on “Collaborative Tools for Protein Analysis” taking place during ISMB 2021, from 24-29 July. You are welcome to join a team and/or pitch a project to be part of the hackathon.

This hackathon builds upon the one we organized at ISMB2020. The overarching aim of this hackathon is “Towards integrating protein sequence-structure-function analysis, visualization and open collaborative research”.

The two main goals of this virtual hackathon are:

  1. To develop open source software modules and collaboration tools for universal biomolecular analyses enabling integration of diverse knowledge and datasets.
  2. To create a sustainable diverse community of developers and designers for continued development of such tools.

Besides participation, a major deliverable is the opportunity to submit hackathon projects for peer-reviewed publication in a special research topic section shared by the journals of Frontiers in Genetics, Frontiers in Molecular Biosciences, and Frontiers in Bioinformatics

Here are the links with all the details about the hackathon including hackathon schedule, potential projects, registration, and project pitch application:
