Hello SYSA Coaches,
Four weeks of the Citywide League play are completed. Thanks again for your efforts in making this a great fall soccer season! This week, we have a reminder about risk management, an announcement about the City Tournament registration dates, and a great PCA Tip of the Week.
RMA Reminder
Risk Management Assurance (RMA) is the background check that all volunteers in SYSA must apply for each year. It assures that our coaches and managers are cleared to work with children. The RMA approval is yearly, based on when you applied. You should receive an email from Affinity noting when your RMA clearance is about to expire. Please take care of your RMA clearance for this year if you haven’t already. Coaches or manager who do not have an approved RMA clearance will not be able to work with their teams, and will be removed from the roster.
If you have any questions about your RMA clearance, please contact the SYSA assistant registrar Anne at any...@hotmail.com .
City Tournament Team Registration
We’ll be you sending a separate email about annual SYSA City Tournament that details the changes for this year. It’s not too early to start talking to your parents and players about signing up for this year’s tournament. With the changes we’ve made, it should be a lot more exciting and fun for more teams that ever!
You’ll be able to register your team for the tournament beginning Friday, October 6. The team registration costs $125 and runs through November 3. After that, there is late registration based on availability of space until November 9, but that will include an additional $100 late fee. Please register early for the tournament if you plan to participate.
Game Day Rosters
Just a reminder that all coaches are required to bring three printed copies of your team roster to each game and present them to the referee. We touched on this in last week’s update. If you have any questions or problems printing your roster, contact SYSA at infor...@sysa.org.
This week’s Positive Coaching Alliance tip is about helping your players bounce back from mistakes. Click here for the PCA Tip of the Week.
