Hello SYSA Coaches,

Thank you again for coaching the kids in SYSA! In this week’s email, we have a few reminders, an announcement, and a Positive Coaching Alliance tip.

Coaching Goalkeepers Workshops
Our second workshop aimed at helping coaches train their goalkeepers is this Friday, September 29, 6-7pm. The workshop will be held at Garfield Playfield. We had a strong turnout of over 30 coaches at the first workshop. No registration required. This is a free clinic sponsored by the Neil Callahan Fund. For full details, click here.

Contact Your Opponent
SYSA strongly recommends that you contact the coach of the opposing team before your weekend game. This contact confirms time and place, and avoids any problems with uniform colors or other issues. We sent contact lists directly to all U11 and older team coaches in email on September 5th. U10 coaches can find their opponent’s contact information in the U10 Schedules, by going into the game schedule, and then clicking on the team name.
If you can’t find the contact list that was sent directly to your email for your age group, contact Paige at pfbl...@hotmail.com and she’ll resend it to you.

Game Day Rosters
We are still getting reports that coaches are not bringing printed copies of their rosters to the game. SYSA requires that all teams present a set of rosters to the referees before the game begins. Instructions for printing your roster in Affinity or Bonzi can be found at this link on the SYSA web site.

Positive Coaching Alliance Tip of the Week
SYSA has joined the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA). We encourage all our coaches to visit the PCA web site. Workshops in the PCA model for coaches will be announced soon.
This weeks’ tip for coaches is about instilling an “Honoring the Game” attitude among your players. Click here for the PCA Tip of the Week.

Thank You
The SYSA Board and Staff
