With reference to "funvideos" message that arrived earlier today, it looks like we are starting to get spammed - any way of stopping it?

Sorry, the spam message must have been caught by my spam-filter, and
so I didn't notice it was in the group.

I've banned the offending user, and marked the messages as spam, so
they won't appear in the Google Groups interface any longer.

Perhaps we should move to a mediated registration system for this
group, rather than let anyone join without confirmation?

Hi again,

In light of the recent spam, I've changed the registration rules for
the syrup-reserves-discuss group. If anyone wants to join the list,
they can request an invitation at the Google Groups page:

http://groups.google.com/group/syrup-reserves-discuss

Art and I are both administrators, so presumably we will both get the
invitation requests. All non-spammers are welcome to join. :)

If anyone objects to this change, please let me know.
