A number of people have asked who is HADRIAN MAR ELIJAH BAR ISRAEL?

His Excellency is the Nazarani Metropolitan, or Archbishop of Nazaeth, appointed by the Metropolitan Commission which met on December 21st 2012 at Nazareth in Judea. Prior to that he was the Bishop of Cosmopolis. The Metropolitan Commission confirmed the previous personal apostolic administration, which was created in 2005, as an independent archdiocese along the lines of the ancient Metropolitan Archdiocese of Fars, which was independent from the Patriarchate in Selucia-Çtiphon, and had it's own language, liturgy and theology. His Excellency has translated the most ancient manuscripts of the liturgical rites, into modern languages, but also into the Netseran (Galilean) dialect of Aramaic, which is the modern form of the same language spoken by Jesus and His apostles, creating a new rite, known as the "Nazarani Rite". He is the author of a number of fifteen books, and over 300 articles on the subjects of medicine, law, linguistics, biblical studies, human rights, theology, and nutrition. He is also a physician, practicing complimentary medicine with La Clinique Complementaire, which offers high end medical care to qualified patients around the world.

At age 21, he was the youngest bishop consecrated into apostolic succession in the 20th century. Other bishops have been younger, including Saint Nikolas of Syrna (age 17), and also Eshai Shimun (age 11, without valid succession). His apostolic succession was documented in the 2004 book THE APOSTOLIC LINEAGE by W. Thomas Stege (ISBN 978-1-329-66471-5).
