Continuing Hope - Overcoming Obstacles:
Reflections of a Palestinian Nonviolent Activist

Daoud Nasser of The Tent of Nations, a Palestinian organization
committed to building a positive future between Israelis and
Palestinians

Friday, November 5 at 7 pm
University United Methodist Church, 1085 East Genesee Street, Syracuse

Daoud will also speak that afternoon at 2 pm at 060 Eggers Hall,
Syracuse University
sponsored by PARCC (Program for the Advancement of Research on
Conflict and Collaboration)

Daoud's visit, organized by CNY Working for a Just Peace in Palestine
and Israel, will highlight Palestinian nonviolent activism through the
experiences, stories, and challenges that Mr. Nasser will share.

The Tent of Nations, founded by the Nasser family in 2000, is located
on their 100-acre family farm near Bethlehem in the West Bank. Though
surrounded by Israeli settlements and hindered by the Israeli
government, they have chosen to be resourceful rather than
confrontational. The Tent of Nations has focused on horticulture and
renewable energy to develop a self-sustaining community and become a
place learning and connection. The Tent of Nations facilitates summer
camps and educational programming for Palestinian and Israeli youth
and hosts many international visitors. The organization is promotes
peace and reconciliation.

The events are free and open to the public.
