Just a small fact to keep in mind about NYS Conventions. 

31st was hosted by Ithaca (2019)

32nd was hosted by Albany (2022)

Unfortunately both times we missed the minutes deadline, so there are no published minutes. Nevertheless let’s be sure to call it the 33rd NYS Convention when we manage to put on another one!

The Albany area group is not planning to do a convention as we did it in 2022. The question is open as to whether another region is up for it. I think the rotation schedule got lost in Covid. If anyone wants take it on, please let the rest of us know! The usual dates are the third Sunday and Saturday before in October.

 I was not able to make it to the Albany regional singing, but various singers have been asking if there is going to be a New York State Annual Sacred Harp convention this year.  Does anyone have any info on this?

I was talking to a few people at Old Songs. We reached the conclusion that there is no one group with the people and energy to do it. We did float the idea of finding a location and holding a do-it-yourself convention. More accurately, perhaps, individuals from around the state who can pitch in. To that end, I checked into Unity Hall. It's available but I've known this for a month and done nothing more. 

No one here has the time to take on chairing, coordinating everything. I'm sorry I put this off for so long. Can we put out a call for someone to chair & then come up with a list of tasks for people or groups to claim? We need to remember people like Keillor, the Ulrichs, Dennis Leipold who might pitch in.

Could I persuade you to chair? You were so organized last time.

Since you will be using the Hall for 2 days and the cost for each day is $500, I can let you rent the Hall for half price, which would be $500 plus $150 refundable security deposit.
If this is agreeable to you please let me know and I will send you the paperwork.
Please send me the name of renter, address, and telephone number.

So can we pull this off in 5 weeks?
I think Laura or Chris Densmore could take care of the kitchen.
