How to book your VISA INTERVIEW (DS-160 form) - STEP 1

Before you begin things needed : 

Passport

I-20

There are 3 forms in total, ie. SEVIS Form, DS-160 form, VISA APPOINTMENT FORM.

All these forms are independent of each other however one should begin by filling DS-160 first.

IN THIS DISCUSSION we shall only fill DS - 160 which is STEP 1

STEP 1

Time Required : 2 Hours

Website : https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

Select your country of Residence under the option "Select a location where you will be applying for this visa "

Click : START AN APPLICATION
Select your Security Question and Answer, ensure you remember this, required for retrieval.
MAKE A NOTE OF APPLICATION ID (it starts with AA)

This form can be filled in multiple sittings so save it and every time you need to retrieve the form visit the same link and click "RETRIEVE AN APPLICATION"

While Retrieving keep the APPLICATION ID handy.

PLEASE TAKE MULTIPLE PRINTS (5) OF THE CONFIRMATION PAGE.
