Subject: Required Photo for University I.D. Card at Syracuse University
Your SU I.D. card will serve as your official University identification and will give you access to residence halls, dining centers, snack operations, athletic facilities, library privileges, vending machines, Carrier Dome and Schine Box Office event tickets, laundry services, and the Schine Copy Center.
You are REQUIRED to electronically submit your picture for your SU I.D. Card - instructions on how to submit a picture can be found below. Please note that to ensure your card is waiting for you upon check-in at your residence hall in August we ask that your picture be submitted as soon as possible!
If you were previously issued a picture ID card, please respond to this email with your name and SUID# and tell us that you have already been issued a picture ID card previously. Once confirmed, we will remove your name from this email list.
Undergraduate students:
If your plans have changed and you no longer plan to attend and if you have not already done so, you must contact your Admissions Office, either Undergraduate SU Admissions at Ora...@syr.edu or ESF Undergraduate Admissions at esf...@esf.edu to process a withdrawal of your admission. Include your name and SUID# (if known) and tell them your plans to attend have changed. The Admissions Office will notify various departments to remove your name from all departmental email lists.
If your plans have NOT changed and you still plan to attend, to avoid interruption in facility access and services upon arrival on campus - specific to dining, residence hall, gym, library, and some academic facilities - send a photo of you immediately using these instructions:
How to upload your photo:
- After activating your syr.edu email address and NetID you may go to http://idphoto.syr.edu and log in using your nine digit SUID number and your date of birth (mm/dd/yy).
- Indicate your status (SU or ESF, Undergraduate or Graduate)
- Attach a digital photo that fulfills the following requirements:
a. A high quality, clear, color photo with a plain background (PASSPORT PHOTO IS IDEAL)
b. A front view of your whole face with no other people or animals in the photo
c. Taken within the past 3 months
d. Taken without a hat or dark glasses
- The photo must be in JPEG (JPG) format and no more than 2 MB in size. Please note that you are only allowed to submit (1) photo. If we determine that the photo cannot be used then you will be notified with the option to send in another photo.
If for any reason you are unable to send a photo electronically:
You can mail a photo to us. An acceptable photo should be wallet or passport photo size; a senior picture is acceptable. Please indicate your name, SUID number, and status (SU, ESF, undergraduate, graduate) on a separate piece of paper and NOT on the back of the picture. This information should be mailed to Syracuse University, I.D. Card Services, 206 Steele Hall, Syracuse, NY 13244-1120.
Photos received after July 1 and before August 15:
We can not guarantee that the ID will be waiting for you upon your check-in at your residence hall in August; in which case it will be held at the I.D. Card Office in 206 Steele Hall for your personal pick-up during opening week.
