While I entertain Jordan Peterson's ideas and see him as necessary for this day in age.  I disagree with a ton of what he says, when it is not related to Psychology.

My criticism of identity politics and I believe the criticism of identity politics is more aligned with Derber's view.  It is a distraction from the core problems we face.

NOTHING!  To live means to influence the cosmos!  One's actions.  One's presence, changes every being he meets!  The cosmos is everything!  To affect any part of the cosmos is to affect the totality!  Life is the most precious gift the cosmos can bestow." --Steve Englehart; Marvel Premier Featuring: Dr. Strange #12

Dear Kenneth,

I believe I am with you on this. I would add that capitalism is evolving all the time and we should not fetishise it nor objectify it into past avatars. For example today capitalism has no interest, it seems, in favouring racism, quite the contrary: it is in capitalism’s interest that all are considered as equally exploitable and the less gender, race or whatever divides there is, the more the precarious class expands. We could argue there is only one class today, the bipolar exploiting-exploited subject of the megamachine. Capitalism has absorbed communism.

In the united states we are loosing the social elements that Franklin Rosevelt implemented which saved American capitalism for a long time.  I am not completely against capitalism.  I am an American who is part of the Green party.  I believe in putting the environment above all other issues.  I think Derber was basically saying that the overemphasis on race and gender with campus activists, is neglecting the core issues which are indeed economic, and we should not solidify oppression to the point where a woman who is black and rich, has it worse than a homeless man who is white.  The American left has been doing that very thing.  I do agree with you that there is a sense that capitalism is really about making all equally exploitable, rather than focusing on particular groups.  Donald Trump does not believe half the nonsense he says when he exploits the white working class with his buzz-phrases like "Build a wall."  Donald does not have any ideology, except what he can accumulate.

Unless you realise that class today is attentionalist and not capitalist.
There is en enormous difference in influence between somebody with 150,000 social media followers and somebody with say 24. Even more so when you check who follows and who does not (the sociogram).
Which is why "The Netocrats" that I published with Jan Söderqvist in 2000, 13 years before the "Syntheism" book, is a Marxist class analysis for the digital age. Attnetionalism beats capitalism the way capitalism beat feudalism.
Money comes to those with attention, attention does not follow money. Which is why netocrats succeed and influencers (whores) fail. As examples.

That is an interesting addition to the conversation Alexander.

It is prevalent that this is what the hierarchy today is based on.  Not how much money you have, but how many people know who you are.

It can be a double edged sword.  The more attention you get, the more likely you can be subjected to threats.

I changed the format of my youtube channel because as I was gaining momentum, I was getting a lot of hate from white supremacists.  Threats even.  They could not stand that I was a Danish American who left Asatru (or in Sweden Asatro) for Zoroastrianism.  They saw me as a traitor to the "Aryan" race for doing so.  Shows how ignorant they are.

So I was getting attantion, but rarely was it attention that was positive.  Most of the time it was very negative attention from negative people.

Now if I post a video, I make sure that the topic stays on philosophy and avoid topics like the Alt-Right, Dansk Folkeparti, White Nationalism, or other such rubbish that really is not worth giving attention to.

Best intentions
Kenneth
