It may be that the plugins should be easier to locate and
enable/disable. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

The trimmer is a simple plugin that looks at the start and end of
samples, and removes frames at the start and end up until it finds
sound data that is louder than a certain specified threshold (in
dBFS). The threshold is configurable, as is whether or not you trim
samples from the start and whether or not you trim samples from the
end. You don't need to worry about changing your samples permanently,
as synthclone keeps two copies of any sample; one without effects
applied, and one with effects applied. If you don't like how the
samples came out after using the trimmer, just change the trimmer
settings and apply the effects again.
I can't know whether or not it would preserve the attack without
actually experimenting with different trimmer settings, but I'm
confident that there is a threshold you can find that works as a sweet
spot.
