Looks interesting.  It seems similar to what Nate was doing, but using a camera in conjunction to create the mesh.  Looks like he used a custom script in MathLab to do the point cloud and then imported into MeshLab.  I wonder if this process could be modified for use with a GoPro?

That is really cool. The process could likely be faster using a GoPro with pictures shot at 30 frames/second. I have also found a lot of forums where people are controlling the GoPro using an arduino.
