Dear Steve, As 2013 comes to a close, it’s a great time to reflect on the things we have to celebrate. We are grateful for the dedication and hard work of Senator Patrick Leahy, Senator Bernie Sanders, Congressman Peter Welch, Governor Peter Shumlin, our Democratic Statewide officials, State Senators and State Representatives. We made great progress on critical public policies to help Vermonters. Protecting school lunch programs, promoting equal pay legislation, fighting for affordable and universal healthcare, safeguarding heating assistance, and leading the way on end of life choice – all critical steps in keeping our state moving forward. We also expanded our Democratic family by conducting the most successful party reorganization to date. With dozens of new towns organized and several hundred new Democrats represented in our State Party at the local level, we go into next year energized and engaged. We wouldn’t be there without the effort of hardworking supporters like you. From the entire Vermont Democratic Party leadership team and our staff, we thank you and wish you and your family a Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
