Hello,

During last night backup (usng ccmdb backup commnad), one of my database lost all CRs. Although, all CM releases/task etc  did not impact. As per log, I don't see any issue with this database. All other databases are working normal. Anyone come across such issue?

Hi,

what do you mean with "lost all CRs"?

Don't you see them within Change or does even a CLI query for cvtype='problem' show an empty selction set?

I'm wondering because as far as I remember there is nothing within the backup routine which is able to delete Objects from a database, and of course not only objects of a certain type from the database.

Might it be that there was e.g. a forgotten cron job running just before/after backup?

Did you unpack the backup file? Does it work afterwards? Are the CRs included or not?

Regards,
Matthias

Are you using a central cr database that is perhaps still shutdown or protected?

Cheers,

Ed

Devendra,

Make sure that your database is not still protected. If the backup fails, it will leave the database in the ‘protected’ state.

If the database is protected, and you start a session as ccm_root, you will be able to see the contents of the database, but your Rational Change session running as some non-ccm-root user might not be able to get a session started.
