I need to remove the %derived_by from the source template used by type perl.

I'm not sure what commands (as typedef_developer) to use to accomplish this with the CLI

The source template looks like this:

#!/usr/local/bin/perl
#
# Perl %name: % (%full_filespec: %)
# %derived_by: %
# %date_created: %
#

Thank you in advance for the help.

Hi Terri,

I haven’t actually tried to do this but according to the documentation (http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSRNYG_7.2.1/com.ibm.rational.synergy.manage.doc/topics/sc_t_h_create_type.html) you should be able to do a

ccm typedef –stf template_file

Maybe play with a test database first to see how that works for you.

Good luck!

Rich

Found the solution:

Before you begin

You must be a user with the ccm_admin role.

Procedure

  1. Start a Rational® Synergy session with your role set to ccm_admin.
  2. Run the ccm typedef command to get the existing source template and to save it to a temporary file:

    For example:

ccm typedef -show source_template java >tmpfile

  3. Edit the temporary file with your favorite editor:

    For example:

    vi tmpfile

  4. Run the ccm typedef command to update the source template with the modified temporary file:

    For example:

ccm typedef -m -stf tmpfile java
