To me the game speed appeard to be a little to high. This can easily
adjusted in
./source/game.c
in
static void game_update_full

where the lines

const int32_t min_sleep_time = 1000 / 40;
const int32_t max_sleep_time = 1000 / 20;

eventually control the gamespeed
change theese, do a make and a make install or util/mkbundle to
include changes.

to me:

const int32_t min_sleep_time = 55;
const int32_t max_sleep_time = 80;

does just fine

Great game, wonderful port, very nice work

This would be a great thing to fix. It's great to play the game again,
but unfortunately it's so fast it's unplayable.

Thanks for bringing this up. It should have been possible to lower the
game speed by changing the max_fps variable, but it seems the code that
controlled the speed didn't work correctly. From these values I assume
that the speed should be around 15-16fps. This is now fixed in our
development repo and we'll include the change in the next release. For
now I'm attaching the patch to this message.

Hi Unavowed. Being as GOG released Syndicate Wars and some of the GOG forums for the game point to use this port (instead of the DOSBox one GOG provide), is there any update on when the next version will be released as having that speed fix implemented would be fantastic.

I've no idea how to do any C compiling, nor what to do with your .patch file there. But from your post, you've already got the speed fix implemented in a pre-release development version, so I'm hoping (along with others on GOG forums) that the next version will be released.

Any news on when the next version with this speed fix will be released?
