hello ,
my name is Omar.
I am an enthusiastic fan of Bullfrog games, especially Dungeon keeper and Syndicate , both the  first one and Wars.

I immediately saw https://keeperfx.net/ and jumped on the chair, which I saw from the posts you already know.

maybe it's a lamer question ... but 

I turn to the developers of syndicate wars port , is there a possibility of opening the port to the community with some sort of modding ? =) As then happened to Keeperfx ? Do you have any ideas in this regard ?

I don't want to be wrong, but Dungeon keeper was for dos as well and Syndicate Wars as well, but if KeeperFx managed to do it I hope there is NO problem to do the same with Syndicate Wars and bring an old game to be replayed and get back what it deserves :D

Hi Omar,
As Gynvael said, check out the link he posted ( https://github.com/swfans/swars ), the game is indeed now fully moddable.
Things that are possible:
  • Rebalancing of research time periods
  • Rebalancing of item and research costs
  • Rebalancing of weapon damage
  • Changing level rewards (both in terms of money gained but also item research boni)
  • Baseline stats of character types can be modded (although these are usually explicitly set in a mission itself)
  • Altering of campaigns (so you could add cut or new levels to the campaign if you wanted, or change the path/unlocked missions in a campaign)
The above are all now exposed in simple text .ini files in the config directory of the new port, so no more hex editing or complex knowledge needed to achieve them.

Editing levels is still difficult, I have written a basic level editor for the game, but it's not finished or released yet.

I am not a developer, but it would be nice, I meant by my message, to resume the community that was ignited with keeperfx! for Syndicate Wars.

Anyway thanks for the reply with the possibility of modding the game. I hope someone in the future will have the chance , to resume the project , which with regret is dead !

If you check the link you will see the project is very much alive!
Literally only yesterday I added placeholder briefings for the cut Unguided campaign which is now playable only via this port. if you are interested in Syndicate Wars you owe yourself to check it out.
