After five months of heavy development, Syncope 0.7 Ritornello reaches its first release candidate.

Despite the small version number increase since previous release 0.6 Sostenuto, relevant new features have been added including:
  1. Supported DBMS (now including MySQL)
  2. Schedulable tasks
  3. Synchronization from external resources
  4. User workflow
    1. Pluggable implementation
    2. Notification
    3. Approval
    4. End-user requests
  5. Password policies
  6. Account policies
  7. Admin console improvements
  8. Project management (Maven) improvements
Check out release notes for all details.

Wiki has also been updated to reflect all new features: check out the new Getting started page and start playing with Ritornello: please report in mailing list any issue or problem you should find.

Enjoy Syncope Ritornello!

Hi Francesco,

Congratulations on the release !!

We are planning to migrate to Ritornello ASAP. I couldn't locate the src corresponding to this release, I could only find a tag for the archetype.
I had taken the latest from the trunk couple of days back and I'm currently using it for the migration. Please let me know the tag for  Ritornello.

Thanks and Regards,
Antony.

Hi Anthony,
first of all, thanks for your congratulations :-)
Anyway, yesterday we released "only" first release candidate for Ritornello: we hope that, with your contribution, we will be able to prove as strongly as possible its value in next coming days (possibly finding and fixing some bugs...) so that we can do official release before the end of month.

Coming to your question: tag for 0.7RC1 sources is [1], tag for latest archetype is at the moment [2]: consider that current trunk was switched yesterday to 0.8-SNAPSHOT for next release Soave, expected in first quarter 2012, as per project roadmap [3].

Since you are migrating from an older release (and since there is not yet a migrations tool, scheduled at [4]), I would suggest you to start a new, temporary, project from scratch [5] using the new archetype, then explore new features and new database schema by running embedded [6].
This because I guess that main issue in migration is related to changes in database schema.

Regards.
