Has google fixed webgui for discrete fields?

I know this will work fine utilizing the API calls as they are capable
of handling discreet fields -- has this feature been pushed to gmail's
web GUI yet? -- that you know of?

Last time I checked (few days/weeks ago??) changing a name/address in
Gmail still destroyed any structured information. And I haven't heard
of any updates on the mailing lists that I follow. But I'll be sure
to check for myself every now and then. It's really frustrating
having code more or less ready for this but I just can't use it yet...
