DMS operates 24 SUN workstations (mathsun1.njit.edu to mathsun24.njit.edu) for use by graduate students (and some undergraduates). These machines are AFS clients, however, they are accessible only by AFS accounts associated with DMS. Therefore, new/old AFS account holders who find that they cannotlog in to these machines must contact the AFS administrators using the linkon the right. NOTE: mathsun16 is sited in the DMS Reading Room (CUL611); mathsun1-7, mathsun13 and mathsun23-24 are sited in the DMS ComputerLab (CUL 615); mathsun19-21 are sited in the DMS Capstone Lab (CUL 514);the remaining mathsun machines are dispersed in the graduate student offices.For compiler/software information please see the InstituteComputing Resources link on the right. Here are vortex.njit.edu (a DEC Personal Workstation 600au) and pele.njit.edu (a Compaq/DEC DS-10 workstation), our common Tru64 UNIX workstations. The two machines are very fast and each has 1 GB of RAM; they are well-suited for intensive computations in graduate student projects. For further information on compilers/software please see the cams1.njit.edu & cams2.njit.edu link on the right. Both are AFS clients and have about 3 GB of local disk storage under /export for users to create directories for their code runs.

Here are the semi-common spitz.njit.edu and albert.njit.edu dual Alpha CPU Tru64 UNIX DS-20 workstations. Right now these machines are for exclusive use by a limited number of faculty; if there's interest we'll open discussions on making these available to all DMS faculty/students.
