I updated the synagios installer yesterday so it installs on newer synology devices.

I had a couple reports saying that DSM reported that the synagios package was not compatible with the synology platform.

The new synagios installer files are synagios_0.13_installfix_arm.spk or synagios_0.13_installfix_x86.spk, for ARM or x86 respectively.

Apart from the install fix, adding the codes for the newer platforms, the synagios build is exactly the same as before.

Hi Mark,
I've installed this version on my DS115J but I'm not able to send email.
I've the latest update od DSM 5.1.
The error is that I dont have the path "/usr/local/bin/mailsender" but I've installed Synology Mail server.

Thanks

Saverio

Hi Saverio,
Follow the video at http://blogger.smorg.co.uk/2014/02/enabling-synagios-email-alerts.html

For the Synology mail server, if 'Enable SMTP authorisation' is enabled then 'Ignore authorisation for LAN connections' should also be enabled.

In the nagios3 Web interface, notifications can be tested by using 'Send custom service notification' (after clicking on a service).

If you checked for the path, '/usr/local/bin/mailsender', and found it wasn't on the diskstation then realise that this path is relative to nagios-chroot in the Synagios package root.

To test 'mailsender', log into the diskstation then type:

/volume1/@appstore/Synagios/nagios-chroot/usr/local/bin/mailsender

It should print:

mailsender <host | ipaddr> <file name>

Hope this helps

Best
Mark

I want to add this info.
Everythig is ok but when I copy and paste the message this is what I receive

RECV > 220 cannara.no-ip.info ESMTP Postfix
SEND > mail from: nagios@localhost
RECV > 503 5.5.1 Error: send HELO/EHLO first

Bye
Saverio

Ah, thanks for that. You probably have 'Advanced anti-spam settings' set that need HELO.

Prepending 'HELO localhost\r\n' to notify-host-by-email and notify-service-by-email might work depending on the anti-spam settings, otherwise it might need a valid domain prepended.
