Toship the materials for each unit, we will refer to the unit start dates that have been registered to the GrapeSEED School Portal Site (hereinafter referred to as "Portal") at the Curriculum Application for the new school year.

The video below will describe the steps to change the unit start dates.

When class progression is delayed

According to the actual progression, change the final unit to a unit that can be reached this year. For example, if the original schedule was set to reach Unit 9, and you want to change this to Unit 8, decrease the "Max Unit" number from "9" to "8". With this change, Unit 9 and its start date will be removed from the unit plan.


When class progression is increased

According to the actual progression, change the final unit to a unit that can be reached this year. For example, if the original schedule was set to reach Unit 9, and you want to change this to Unit 10, increase the "Max Unit" number from "9" to "10". With this change, Unit 10 is added to the unit plan. However, the unit start date is not set. Please open the unit plan after, and set the unit start date.


In order to conduct a GrapeSEED classroom, you must have a well planned schedule, especially when teaching English Language Learners. The GrapeSEED Unit Plan tool allows you to clearly define your class schedule based on how often you hold your class, how many lessons you teach, and your class' duration.


The GrapeSEED Unit Plan acts like a class schedule. Your unit plan determines when lessons start and end, and the amount of lessons per week you need to cover that unit. This determines your class duration over a period of months.


The unit plan keeps teachers up to date and provides important information to schools administrators and coaches. For example, you can schedule your lesson plans easily. The unit plan gives substitute teachers all the information they need so that students don't miss a beat.


Important class details impact your unit plan. These include your class' lessons per week, start unit, max unit, and start date. The 'Unit Plan' form will notify you if your class needs more lessons per week or a longer duration to cover the specified units.


Specify the start for your class in the 'Units to Generate' field, select a class end date, and click Ok. This will update the 'Start Date' for the selected unit and any following units.


You may delete a unit by clicking the calendar to the right of the start date. If you make any changes, click on Save to save your changes, or click Cancel to discard your changes.


You can create your class' unit plan by copying another class' unit plan. To do so, click on the ... to the right of 'Generate Unit Plan' in the 'Unit Plan' form, and select Copy Unit plan. All classes with unit plans on your campus will be listed.


The class you copy from is called your base class. Select your base class from the drop down list and click OK to copy the unit plan. Click Cancel to discard your changes and return to the 'Unit Plan' form.


Once you save your changes, the Unit Plan checks to ensure it is a feasible model based on the dates. It determines whether you can complete the unit within those dates. If you can't, you will receive an alert.

Proanthocyanidins (PACs), the predominant constituents within Grape Seed Extract (GSE), are intricate compounds composed of interconnected flavan-3-ol units. Renowned for their health-affirming properties, PACs offer a shield against a spectrum of inflammation associated diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, degenerations and possibly cancer. While monomeric and dimeric PACs undergo some absorption within the gastrointestinal tract, their larger oligomeric and polymeric counterparts are not bioavailable. However, higher molecular weight PACs engage with the colonic microbiota, fostering the production of bioavailable metabolites that undergo metabolic processes, culminating in the emergence of bioactive agents capable of modulating physiological processes. Through comprehensive analysis, the present study unequivocally verified the gastrointestinal-mediated transformation of medium to high molecular weight polymeric PACs, thereby establishing the bioaccessibility of a principal catabolite termed 5-(3',4'-dihydroxyphenyl)-γ-valerolactone (VL). Notably, our findings, encompassing cell biology, chemistry and proteomics, converge to the proposal of the notion of the capacity of VL to activate, upon oxidation to the corresponding quinone, the nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) pathway-an intricate process that incites cellular defenses and mitigates stress-induced responses, such as a challenge brought by TNFα. This mechanistic paradigm seamlessly aligns with the concept of para-hormesis, ultimately orchestrating the resilience to stress and the preservation of cellular redox equilibrium and homeostasis as benchmarks of health.


A four-unit long, cyclic structured, super light silicone that is the small sister of the more commonly used 5-unit long cyclic structured Cyclopentasiloxane. It is a so-called volatile silicone that evaporates off the skin and hair rather than staying on it.


Similar to other silicones, it has excellent spreading properties and amazing silkiness. It is often blended with other silicones to achieve unique sensorial properties in the formula.


A super commonly used 5 unit long, cyclic structured silicone that is water-thin and does not stay on the skin but evaporates from it (called volatile silicone). Similar to other silicones, it gives skin and hair a silky, smooth feel.


What's more, it can even reduce the heavy, greasy feel in products with high oil content. It's also fast-spreading meaning that it gives the formula a good, nice slip. It absorbs quickly into the skin and helps other ingredients to penetrate quicker and deeper.


Thanks to all this, it's one of the most commonly used emollients out there. There is just one little drawback: it has a high comedogenic index (5 out of 5...), so it might clog pores if you're prone to it.


A light, velvety, unique skin feel liquid that is a good solvent and also makes the skin feel nice and smooth (aka emollient). It's often used in makeup products mixed with silicones to give shine and slip to the product. It's also great for cleansing dirt and oil from the skin as well as for taking off make-up.


A thick, high molecular weight silicone that is usually diluted in another, lighter silicone fluid (like dimethicone or cyclopentasiloxane). The dimethiconol containing silicone blends leave a silky smooth, non-greasy film on the skin.


Its unique property is that it contains high amounts of a rare fatty acid called palmitoleic acid (12-25%) that give Macadamia oil a "cushiony" feel. It's also easily absorbed and makes the skin soft and supple.


A goodie plant oil coming from the polyphenol-rich seeds of the grape. It's a light emollient oil that makes your skin feel smooth and nice and also contains a bunch of good-for-the-skin stuff. It's a great source of antioxidant polyphenols, barrier repair fatty acid linoleic acid (about 55-77%, while oleic acid is about 12-27%) and antioxidant, skin-protectant vitamin E.


Second, they contain the problematic compounds called furanocoumarins that make them mildly phototoxic. Lemon peel contains a medium amount of them, more than sweet orange but less than bergamot. Be careful with it especially if it is in a product for daytime use.


Regarding safety, there are also some concerns around Octinoxate. In vitro (made in the lab not on real people) and animal studies have shown that it may produce hormonal (estrogen-like) effects. Do not panic, the studies were not conducted under real life conditions on real human people, so it is probably over-cautious to avoid Octinoxate altogether. However, if you are pregnant or a small child (under 2 yrs. old), choose a physical (zinc oxide/titanium dioxide) or new-generation Tinosorb based sunscreen, just to be on the super-safe side. :)


Overall, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate is an old-school chemical sunscreen agent. There are plenty of better options for sun protection today, but it is considered "safe as used" (and sunscreens are pretty well regulated) and it is available worldwide (can be used up to 10% in the EU and up to 7.5% in the US).


Grape physiological and commercial maturity depends on plant genotype, as well as on environmental conditions that affect vine phenotype. The influence of plant nutrition (fertilization) and agricultural management (conventional, organic, biodynamic, integrate) contribute to differences in grape polyphenol content (Heimler et al, 2017). Cultural practices and environmental conditions, such as light, temperature and soil water status, can significantly affect grape biochemical composition from the pre-veraison to post-veraison periods (Chorti et al, 2010; Teixeira et al, 2013). In addition, climatic changes are particularly important for grapevine cultivation, in which certain environmental conditions, e.g., temperature, could dramatically affect polyphenol metabolism, as well as grape quality. In fact, many studies have reported how high temperatures had a detrimental effect on berry color (de Rosas, et al. 2017).
