It's GSoC org application time again. Applications open on January
19th (day after tomorrow) and the deadline is February 9th.

First off, if you are an interested STUDENT, please read
https://github.com/sympy/sympy/wiki/GSoC-2017-Student-Instructions,
and send a separate email to this list.

The first order of business is mentors. Anyone who is willing to
mentor please add your name here
https://github.com/sympy/sympy/wiki/GSoC-2017-Ideas#potential-mentors.
If we don't have mentors, then there is no point in applying.

Next, the most important part of the application is the ideas page.
Please add new ideas, remove completed ones, and feel free to
generally clean up the ideas page
https://github.com/sympy/sympy/wiki/GSoC-2017-Ideas.

Finally, the application itself. I have copied last year's here
https://github.com/sympy/sympy/wiki/GSoC-2017-Organization-Application.
I will update it with the actual questions (in case they have changed
this year) on the 19th.

Additional materials are the application template
https://github.com/sympy/sympy/wiki/GSoC-2017-Application-Template,
and the student instructions
https://github.com/sympy/sympy/wiki/GSoC-2017-Student-Instructions.

If you can spare any time reading/writing/modifying any of these
documents, that would be very helpful. If you don't have time, but
want to mentor, please at least add your name to the list.

It would be great if students who did GSoC last year (2016) could improve the ideas list a bit. Adding proper links to where have written their blogs for what they left without merging, removing the content they believe has been done properly. That would reduce a large numbers of questions from beginners whose very first question is probably: what has been done, what remains to be done.
