[GSOC 2026] Query regarding Computational Group Theory project length

Hello,

I really liked the Group Theory project and I did take an elective on the basics of Abstract Algebra around 1.5 years ago. I've started going through the Handbook of CGT (Holt, D. F., et.al). I've only just started to be fair, but I had a query:

Is it possible to do a 175 hour project on the topic.

If not, and 350 hours is a hard requirement, then I understand, but I thought it best to reach out and confirm. If a concern is what I would do within a 175 hour project, I can hopefully tell better about in a few days and with some guidance from the mentors regarding scoping out the work. But if there's a strict requirement, it would be nice to know beforehand.
