Dear all,
My name is Arooshi Verma and I am a second year Computer Science undergraduate from IIT Bhubaneswar, India.

I have 4 years of experience of coding in Python and Have excelled in all mathematics related courses I have studied (including both High School and College). I have particularly high proficiency in Physics(recieved Marker Cup for Physics in High school) as well as Mathematics (I have qualified Regional Mathematics Olympiad). Moreover, I love learning about graph algorithms. Furthermore, I have done a few projects on Machine learning and Image Processing(using OpenCV in Python). I have studied a bit about computer algebra systems and they really intrigue me a lot.

I have just started getting familiar with Sympy and am very keen to explore it more. I am interested to work on a Physics(Classical Mechanics projects) or a Mathematics project. I am currently exploring Sympy as well as reading through the project ideas. Please do advise me how to move further.

Thank you.

Hello Arooshi,

Happy to hear that you are passinate about mathematics and inteerested to work with SymPy community. Go through the Development workflow and contribution guide, also all other related links and wiki pages in SymPy for more clarity. I encourage you to start with fixing easy issues to hands on codebase and development.

While doing contribution check your interest area and  respective sympy module, to choose particular project . Then you can start discussing your idea to make sure mentors are align with your approach, these simple steps will surely make your proposal stronog.

Keep committing :)
