You probably need to set your python interpreter to the virtual environment you've created.

Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-P -> type "Python: Select Interpreter" -> choose your .venv/bin/python

Hi everyone,

I’m setting up the SymPy development environment and I’m facing an issue in VS Code.

Whenever I open any .py file from the SymPy repository, VS Code shows errors such as “Import could not be resolved” / “Import not resolved” for SymPy modules.

I’m not sure whether this is related to the Python interpreter, virtual environment, or the way the SymPy source directory is configured.

Could someone please guide me on how to properly configure VS Code/Python for SymPy development and resolve these import warnings?

Yours sincerely,
Suhail

Hi Carl,
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll select the Python interpreter from the virtual environment using Python: Select Interpreter in VS Code and check whether that resolves the import issues.
I appreciate your help!
Best,
Suhail
