Hello to the SymPy maintainers!

I’m writing to follow up on a couple of pull requests from my GSoC 2025 project, “Symbolic Wrapping Geometries,” that are still pending review:

Add usage example for WrappingCone to sympy documentation #28317

Add fix and tests for NaN error when one of the points is apex #28374

Once these are merged, the wrapping geometry module would be fully wrapped up from a GSoC standpoint.

I also had a quick question regarding maintainership: apart from the two of you, are there other active maintainers currently overseeing the wrapping geometry modules? I’d like to continue improving and contributing to this part of SymPy and wanted to understand who else I should coordinate with going forward.

Thanks again for your time and guidance throughout the project, and I appreciate any updates when convenient.

Best regards,
Rushabh Mehta

Dear Rushabh,

We would want to at least have feature parity to Opensim for these wrapping geometries and examples/tests that demonstrate valid and robust numerical equations are generated for complex wrappings in 3D.

I would be more than happy to keep working on making that happen. What concerns me is your availability to review the relevant (and currently ready) PRs.

That was the reason for asking about other maintainers.

Dear Rushabh,

Anyone can review PRs and there are many people that can merge PRs.

I have a (more than) full time job and review as my volunteer time permits.

If you are inquiring about GSoC specifically, then it is expected that the mentor reviews and merges PRs of the GSoCer.

I am not enqiuiring about GSoC specifically, I am simply wanted to continue my existing work and make sure that sympy can tackle OpenSim someday.

I understand your time limitations, thank you for clarifying. I will wait for the PRs to be reviewed by you (or someone else).
