Hi,

I am Shashank Gupta, MS By Research student at IIIT-Hyderabad currently working on applications of Deep Learning in Information Retrieval and NLP. I am planning to participate in GSOC 2016. I am planning to work in the project, 'benchmarking' under CS category.

Any suggestions on how to start will be helpful.

where we have started to implement benchmarks. Maybe you could start by benchmarking all the core operations.

Selecting appropriate benchmarks that can be compared to other CAS systems would be nice too. I think the SymEngine project has a nice start on this which includes some SymPy code.
