Query regarding general GSoC workflow

Hello everyone,

As a trying-GSoC contributor, right now is it expected to make an official draft of proposal for my chosen project and then get feedback on it?

Or should I only start writing something after March 8th and keep refining the "idea" right now?

What is the best approach here?
