Hi,
I am a computer science student at IIIT, Hyderabad. I have an interest in maths. I like the sympy library and would like to contribute.
My intention is to contribute regularly for a long period of time, atleast for now. My motivation for doing this is to learn software development in a large codebase with many collaborators. And learn math along the way.

From the github page, the impression I get is that while most PRs get a constructive response, some do go unnoticed. Is there something I can do to increase my chances of a positive response?

I have opened my first PR here for this issue. I put an effort to adhere to the guidelines posted. However, I might have made a mistake in the following regard:
On the issues page, some people had commented that they were working on it. I found the issue suitable for me and made a PR ignoring those. Is that acceptable?
And I didn't leave any comment on the issues page because I found the issue self-explanatory. Is that okay or should I have engaged in a discussion before starting work.

Regards

Hello everyone,

I, Shubham Kumar Jha, am a third year undergraduate at National Institute of Technology Agartala, Tripura, India, in Computer Science & Engineering.

I have an experience of four years of coding in Python. I have worked on many mini-projects in Python and crafted some games with Pygame and Tkinter modules. Currently, I am studying Machine Learning in Python. It has been my first programming language. So it's the area I feel most comfortable in. I believe Python has the potential to become universal as a programming language. And I admire the open-source projects happening under its hood. I am eager to contribute to it.

I have had courses on abstract algebra, geometry, calculus, to name a few fields. I am comfortable in these domains and would like to work on them.

I came across SymPy while going through SciPy and related modules. I got interested in it because of the fact that it is written entirely in Python (pure pythonic). At this point, I am going through the codebase and would be contributing soon. I am eager to be a part of the community.

Thanks,

Shubham Kumar Jha
