Hello Mentors and contributors, I am an undergrad CS student. And I was actually looking for some suggestions from your side. I am planning to apply for GSoC next year and I was planning to start making contributions in Sympy but I have never contributed to SymPy before. Can you please tell me what do I have to know (specially in mathematics) before I can actually start making contributions? It'll be very helpful. Thank you.

Hello Faraz,

The only requisite for contributing to SymPy is an understanding of python.
SymPy has many modules. Each module may require knowledge of a different area of mathematics.
There is a lot of work in SymPy which does not involve mathematics.

The best way to start is to go through some list of easy to fix issues. You can also contribute to
improving documentation. Also, read the Development workflow guide.
