Hello SymPy team,
I’m interested in the “Efficient Groebner bases and their applications” GSoC project, and I’ve been trying to understand what remains open after the 2025 work on FLINT-backed multivariate polynomials. From what I found, PR #28119 merged the refactoring/preparation step, while PR #28110 still looks like the larger FLINT-backed integration is in progress.
I’ve started contributing in the relevant area and currently have PR #29587 open, which fixes zero-generator handling in `sdm_groebner` for ideals/submodules.
For the current GSoC cycle, would it be more useful to continue the FLINT-backed polynomial work, or to focus more directly on the current idea-page directions such as Groebner algorithm improvements, Groebner walk, or applications built on top of the existing basis code? I’d appreciate any guidance on what remains highest priority.
Best,
Zihao Qi
