Dear SD Followers,
during and after ACA-15 I started a redesign of CASN - the Computer
Algebra Social Network.
As far it was the main effort of Andreas, Simon and me, directed towards
RDF based elements in the website of the German CA Fachgruppe and hosted
in a non-public git-repo. For more information see
http://wiki.symbolicdata.org/CASN and the links therein
http://symbolicdata.org/casn/ - the Virtuoso based RDF store
and the web pages
http://www.fachgruppe-computeralgebra.de/tagungsankuendigungen/
http://www.fachgruppe-computeralgebra.de/rundbrief-beitraege/ (outdated)
http://www.fachgruppe-computeralgebra.de/arbeitsgruppen/ (outdated)
http://www.fachgruppe-computeralgebra.de/projekte/
http://www.fachgruppe-computeralgebra.de/dissertationen/
http://www.fachgruppe-computeralgebra.de/fachgruppenleitung/
within the Wordpress based site of the German CA Fachgruppe.
The redesign concerns
1) a consolidation of the PHP tools using the EasyRdf package
http://www.easyrdf.org
2) setting up a CASN node at
http://www.fachgruppe-computeralgebra.de/rdf/ with information special
to the Fachgruppe (although not yet Linked Data it is a big lap towards
decentral information storage as a major design objectivev of CASN)
3) concentration of the future focus of the CASN project on the
Conferences and PhD parts as several stakeholders the CA community seem
to be interested in consolidating such an information structure.
FOAF-Profiles:
http://www.fachgruppe-computeralgebra.de/rdf/FOAF-Profiles/ gives an
impression about management of FOAF profiles by local groups: You find
there FOAF profiles of (current and former) board members of the
Fachgruppe (maintained at the local site), linked to the SD People
database
http://symbolicdata.org/Data/People/ through the "indirection"
http://symbolicdata.org/Data/PersonalProfiles/, that "registers" local
FOAF-Profiles with SymbolicData.
Much of the information supplied by the German CA Fachgruppe is outdated
and they should care about their web site. Unfortunately there is no
much progress in that direction, since there is at the moment even no
"Referent Internet".
So much for the moment about the CASN perspectives.
Enjoy, hgg
