Dear SD followers and other,

(1) I plan to compile a short paper about "20 years SymbolicData" to be
submitted to the CA Rundbrief of the German Fachgruppe in Oct. 2018. It
will be in English, hence another copublication with CCA is possible.

@GregorKemper: Please inform the editorial office (I put already
c...@mathematik.de in CC) about such a submission in progress, or inform
me if it is off topic.

@Albert: I put the CCA part in your hands since I don't plan to spend
any own efforts in that direction.

(2) From <https://symbolicdata.github.io/New.html>
> Gregor Kemper informed on behalf of the Board of the German Fachgruppe that there is no interest visible within the board to actively promote SymbolicData, but in honour of Gräbe’s efforts they will continue to sponsor the domain. During the relaunch of the Website of the German Fachgruppe most of the CASN features were switched off, the link to our activities was removed from the menu bar.

The link links to a linked version. ;-)

(3) I managed to put the SymbolicData Data collection on the agenda of
the Coding Da Vinci Hackathon <https://codingdavinci.de/events/ost/> and
ask everybody to provide interesting challenges that I can present on
the Kick-Off at April, 14.

@other: I put you in CC in particular for (3) as we had some (mostly
fruitless) discussion earlier about SymbolicData in particular and
Research Data in general. See <https://symbolicdata.github.io/New.html>
for more details.

Best regards,
Hans-Gert Gräbe

I just finished the paper "20 years SymbolicData" that will appear in
both the next CA Rundbrief of the German Fachgruppe ans in the SIGSAM
CCA. Please find a link at our publications page
<https://symbolicdata.github.io/Publications.html>.

I used the opportunity to terminate a number of activities and to
consolidate out github pages. Details at
<https://symbolicdata.github.io/New.html>.

The submission wasn't accepted by the organizers.

Note that two new members joined the SD github team: Karim Abou Zeid and
Viktor Levandovskyy from RWTH Aachen (Germany).

As announced earlier today I shut down the SD web pages
<http://symbolicdata.org/> that were served so far at Leipzig
University. It remains for a while

* the domain symbolicdata.org registered with GI (the German pendant of
ACM) where ULEI is the host. This will be returned to GI at the end of
this year, since (resp. if) no new host was (is) found.

* a redirection of <http://symbolicdata.org/index.html> to the SD github
pages where most of the material is available that does not require a
running website. Note that all direct links to RDFData, XMLResources
etc. and all regularly produced dumps are broken, but this data as also
the SD tools remain available from the respective SD github repos.

* the SD github pages.

Since a domain without host makes no sense and the German Fachgruppe
announced already a while ago that it will no more sponsor the domain
symbolicdata.org this domain will be released in a near future. So if
someone is out there that thinks it is a good idea to invest in that
domain name please contact me to agree upon further details.
